GPs are able to refer directly to the
Southend University Hospital DVT outpatient service.
Our service is run by a team of Clinical
Nurse Specialists with the support of a consultant within the Day
Assessment Unit at Southend Hospital.

If there is no reply, the nurse may be with a
patient. Please leave a message on the answer phone and a nurse
will get back to you as soon as possible. To help us deal with your
enquiry more efficiently, when leaving a
message, please include the following details:
Your name and contact number

Patient’s name

Patient’s date of birth

Patient’s contact number
- Reason
for referral
Our service is available between 9am to 5pm, with
the last patient able to attend at 3pm to allow time for
us to complete all relevant investigations.
Most patients are seen within 24 hours of
referral and, outside of our clinic hours,
patients can be referred to the medical team on-call.
