With thanks to all the patients who have provided feedback!

From 6th October 2014 we have switched to a local phone number

01268 209309

Many congratulations to our Health Care Assistant Jane for achieving the highest number of patients setting a date to quit smoking in April 2015 across the whole region! We're very proud of you Jane! If you'd like help quitting smoking, book to see one of our advisors ASAP!

Named GP for patients over 75

You may be aware that from April all practices are required to provide all their patients aged 75 and over with a named GP who will have overall responsibility for the care and support that our surgery provides to them.

In a large practice like ours, patients may choose to see whichever Doctor they want, and it is logistically complex to know who your ‘preferred Dr’ may be. We have set up a system to notify you who your ‘Named GP’. If you have not heard by the end of June then you should receive a letter in July, please let us know if you have NOT heard by the end of July.

However it is highly possible that your ‘named GP’ is not your preferred GP. DON’T PANIC!!

The named GP does not in any way prevent you from seeing any of the other doctors here at Audley Mills.

You do not need to take any further action, but if you have a strong preference and would prefer a different ‘Named GP’ please jot this down on a note with your name and address and hand it to reception and we will amend the computer system to show your chosen ‘Named GP’ instead.

Calling all carers

If you are a carer, or are being cared for, however old or young you are, with your permission we would like to record this information on your patient record as it may be helpful in the future. Please write in or drop off this information at reception. Thank-you.

We'd like to remind patients that we offer a wide range of appointments from early morning to early evening, with doctors and nurses, some can only be booked on the day the rest can be booked UP TO THREE WEEKS in advance. Therefore if you want to see a particular person then booking the appointment in advance is highly recommended - continuity of care is often very helpful, but of course for an emergency you will need to see the clinician that is available.

We now have more staff than ever before and the pressure on our appointments system is definitely easier. Mondays are still the busiest so if it will wait till later in the week then that might be worth considering.

We have agreed to participate in clinical research to benefit the wider community. You might be contacted to ask if you would like to participate in studies, obviously this decision is entirely up to you, it will not compromise your care in any way whatsoever and all personal information will be treated in the highest confidence. We are excited about this new direction for the surgery as it fits well with our overall aims to be evidence based in our practice of medicine.

The Surgery is now open as follows:

Monday - 7:00am to 8:00pm

Tuesday - 7:00am to 6:30pm

Wednesday - 7:00am to 6:30pm

Thursday - 7:00am to 8:00pm

Friday - 7:00am to 6:30pm

Please reserve the early and late appointments for patients who work during the day. We still offer plenty of daytime appointments for those able to attend during 'working hours'.

Please note that the out of hours service is responsible for emergencies after 6:30pm.
